Project Highlights

The ACMA Project consists of two major sub-projects:
• Grassroots Women and Climate Change: Vulnerability Risk and Response Initiatives. This sub-project is implemented by MEF in association with Can Tho University, and supported by the East-West Management Institute, Inc. (“EWMI”). The aim of this sub-project is to produce a field-based dataset on climate governance, gender and ethnic equality in climate change adaptation, grassroots climate actions, and water security in the Mekong Delta; and (ii) to improve data-related capacity and skills of MEF citizen scientists through internal training workshops. The training and fieldwork activities will last for 3 months (September to December 2020).

• The Mekong Delta Sustainable Development Workshop is designed to bring together representatives from all relevant stakeholders, including local and international solution providers/suppliers, provincial authorities, local farmers, academia, and investors. We aim for the workshop to drive concrete actions that should lead to deliverable results in the first project(s) to be implemented within 6 months post-workshop. The workshop is scheduled on 12-13 October 2020 at Can Tho University. MEF and The Water Agency are co-organizers; Can Tho University, Can Tho City People’s Committee, and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam are co-hosting the workshop which is partly supported by the Mekong Capital.
